The Milwaukee Brewers won their four-game series against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday afternoon. With the score tied 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning, catcher/designated hitter Gary Sanchez hit a two-run home run to give the Brewers a 6-4 lead. Elvis Peguero locked down the ninth inning for his first save of the season, becoming the seventh Brewers reliever to notch a save this season.
The number of relievers that have been used in the closer role this season is not too great of a surprise given the fact that Devin Williams has been out all season thus far with a back injury. Unfortunately, the injury bug has not been limited to just Williams. Four Brewers starters are currently on the injured list, and that does not even include Brandon Woodruff, who is out for the season.
As a result of their many injuries, the Brewers have had to rotate pitchers between Triple-A and the Majors in order to give their bullpen more flexibility. One of these recent acquisitions is now going to be looking for his fourth team this season after their latest roster move.
The Milwaukee Brewers Made a Pitching Change

Prior to their game against the Cubs on Thursday, the Brewers announced a slight change on their roster. They had recalled relief pitcher Kevin Herget from Triple-A Nashville. In a coordinating move, they designated Mitch White for assignment:

In Milwaukee’s 10-6 win over the Cubs on Wednesday, White pitched the eighth and ninth innings, allowed two hits, and had two runs scored on him (just one was earned).
White finishes his tenure in Milwaukee with a 6.48 ERA in six appearances.
Herger was with Milwaukee earlier this season, appearing in two games and has a 4.91 ERA. In Nashville, he has appeared in 14 games and has an ERA of 2.60.
The Milwaukee Brewers Were Mitch White’s Third Team of the 2024 Season

White, of course, could accept his assignment to Triple-A Nashville and remain with the Brewers’ organization. However, given the fact that Milwaukee is his third Major League team of the season, he also may look to find another role that is not in the minors.
White started the season with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he was 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA in four appearances. Towards the end of April, his contract was purchased by the San Francisco Giants. While in the Bay Area, he appeared in three games and had a 11.81 ERA.
Milwaukee purchased him from the Giants on May 10.
