The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back from their extra-inning loss in Cincinnati on Sunday and blew out the St. Louis Cardinals at home on Monday by the score of 9-3. Milwaukee scored all of their runs due to three home runs hit by Willy Adames, Rhys Hoskins, and Jackson Chourio.
Adames’ blast was his 29th of the year, which also happened fall on his 29th birthday. His three-run shot in the bottom of the first inning was his 13th three-run homer of the season, tying the single season record for three-run home runs set by Ken Griffey Jr. in 1996.
It was also his fifth consecutive game with a home run, which ties a franchise record held by Jeromy Burnitz and Eric Thames.
Milwaukee Brewers Rookie Jackson Chourio Hit His 2nd Grand Slam of the Season

The sixth inning began with the Brewers hanging onto a 5-1 lead thanks to the three-run home run by Adames in the first inning and a two-run home run by Hoskins in the fourth. But the Cardinals started to make things interesting by scoring two runs in the top of the sixth, cutting the lead to two.
Chourio, the Brewers’ star rookie who leads the National League in batting average since June 2, came up to the plate with the bases loaded and one out.
He crushed a ball left out over of the middle of the plate into deep left field for his second grand slam of the season. It was his 18th home run of the season and brought his RBI total up to 67. He is also now hitting .278/.328/.461 on the season.
Jackson Chourio Predicted He Would Hit a Grand Slam Before the Milwaukee Brewers Even Hit in the Sixth Inning

After the game, Brewers pitcher Frankie Montas told reporters that Chourio approached him before Milwaukee sent a hitter up to the plate in the sixth inning. According to Montas (via Adam McCalvy), Chourio said, “I’m going to get an at-bat with the bases loaded and I’m going to hit a grand slam.”
And he did!
Over the last three months, Jackson Chourio’s numbers are absurd — particularly for a 20-year-old

McCalvy reports that Adames said after the game, “It was incredible. That’s why he was pointing to me and Frankie. We were talking about it and he was like, ‘I’m going to hit it.’ And he did it. I was like, ‘Oh my God, he really did it.’”
Chourio is just the third player ever to hit multiple grand slams before his 21st birthday. The other two were Alex Rodriguez and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
If he can muster two more home runs before the end of the season, he will become the first player in MLB history to have at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases before turning 21 years old.
