The Milwaukee Brewers snapped their three-game losing streak by defeating the Detroit Tigers 10-0 on Friday night. At 37-26, they hold a six-and-a-half game lead over three teams that are tied for second in the National League Central Division: the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Cardinals. The Pittsburgh Pirates are seven games back. Milwaukee remains the only team in the division with a winning record.
Amidst a plethora of injuries to their starting rotation (the team currently has five starting pitchers on the injured list), rookie right-hander Tobias Myers pitched the best game of his young career. He went eight full innings, allowing just one hit (a leadoff single in the first inning), three walks, and striking out five.
29-year old right-handed reliever James Meeker, who was called up earlier in the day from Triple-A Nashville, gave up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning in his Major League debut.
The Milwaukee Brewers Offense Erupted After Going Silent in Philadelphia

After allowing the leadoff single in the first inning, Myers was [literally] unhittable. The Tigers offense did not get another knock until the ninth inning.
The Brewers’ offense, meanwhile, exploded after being limited to just two runs in three games against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Leadoff man Brice Turang had four hits in five at-bats, scored twice, and drove in two. William Contreras added a two-RBI double with his only hit in five at-bats.
Left fielder Christian Yelich was a perfect three-for-three from the plate with a walk added in. He is now hitting .324/.409/.525 on the season.
During Milwaukee’s five-run second inning, Yelich stole second base for his ninth steal of the year. In the process, Turang stole home for his 22nd.
Sal Frelick was two-for-four with a RBI and run scored and Joey Ortiz had two hits in five at-bats. The rookie third baseman is now hitting .292/.389/.484 on the season and leads qualifying National League third baseman in OPS.
Milwaukee Brewers Center Fielder Blake Perkins Had Himself a Night

Center fielder Blake Perkins also had a great night at the plate. He was three-for-four with two RBI and three runs scored.
Two of his hits were triples, which also happened to be the first two triples of his young Major League career.
Perkins also became the first Brewers player since Hernan Perez to hit two triples in a game.
Blake Perkins has TWO triples tonight against the Tigers. The last Milwaukee Brewers player to hit two triples in the same game?
Hernan Perez, back in 2017 against the Cincinnati Reds.

The feat also ties a franchise record for triples in a game, a record that is shared by 20 different players now:
- Blake Perkins
- Hernan Perez
- Gerardo Parra
- Khris Davis
- Jean Segura
- Carlos Gomez
- Alcides Escobar
- Geoff Jenkins
- Jose Valentin
- Fernando Vina
- Darryl Hamilton
- Tom Brunansky
- Paul Molitor
- Franklin Stubbs
- Robin Yount
- Rick Manning
- Randy Ready
- Ted Simmons
- Ben Oglive
- Ted Savage
Both Molitor and Vina accomplished the feat twice.
