Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio is a special talent. The 19 year old rapidly ascended up the minor league ranks in 2022 and is putting together a monster season in Double-A in 2023. He recently hit his 16th home run of the season and tied a home run record last set by Giancarlo Stanton in 2006.

Top Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio has tied a home run record last set by Giancarlo Stanton in 2006.
Per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal the last teenager to hit 16 home runs in Double-A was Giancarlo Stanton in 2006. It is inevitable that he will surpass this mark in the coming days.
Despite being just 19 years old his power has always been on full display as he has 41 career home runs over 230 games played. A season ago he hit 20 across three minor league levels. If he continues on this pace he will set a new career high in home runs this season.
Also worth noting is that Jackson Chourio is on a tear at the plate. Since pre-tacked baseball went away he has been collecting hits left and right. He has 33 hits during the month of July, which ties a personal best for him. However he has only played in 19 games this month due to the All-Star break.
The Milwaukee Brewers have not indicated if his incredible month of July has warranted a promotion to Triple-A or not. Regardless of what happens he has proven that he can hit Double-A pitching both with sticky baseballs and without, so he is ready for the next challenge.
