As the Milwaukee Brewers prepare for the 2023 MLB draft various sites are providing updated mock projections. Already we have seen predictions that have landed the Crew a few legit third base prospects. Braden Taylor out of Texas Christian University and Brock Wilken from Wake Forest have been two names mentioned.
One of the latest developments has been MLB Pipeline writer Jonathan Mayo suggesting that the Brewers select another outfielder with the 18th overall pick. His prediction is Vanderbilt product Enrique Bradfield Jr. The left-handed hitter and thrower has elite speed and has a scouting grade of 80 in the category.

MLB Pipeline predicts that the Milwaukee Brewers draft an outfield prospect with 80 grade speed.
Enrique Bradfield Jr could have been drafted in the top few rounds of the 2020 MLB draft but elected to commit to Vanderbilt. In college he has been incredible, especially on the bases. He led NCAA Division 1 in steals in 2021 with 47, stole 46 in 2022. and 36 in 2023. He was caught on six attempts his freshman year, zero times in 2022, and seven times in 2023.
At the plate he is a contact oriented hitter with a career .311 batting average, .425 on base-percentage, and .447 slugging percentage. He has not hit double digit home runs but has good pull side power when he gets a hold of pitches. Defensively he is elite as a center fielder and has an above average throwing arm that is graded at 50.
It will be interesting to see if on July 9, 2023 the Brewers select Enrique Bradfield Jr at 18 or not. There is a lot of talk that he will not be on the board at that time, but also Milwaukee has previously drafted Garrett Mitchell, Sal Frelick, and Joey Wiemer in the early rounds of the MLB draft. They also have an international signee and highly regarded outfield prospect Jackson Chourio. This makes the idea of taking another college outfielder a bit less likely.
