Last year, the Milwaukee Brewers used 17 different players in their starting rotation, matching a franchise record for the most in a single season. That being said, it’s fair to assume they will be looking to add pitchers this offseason. However, with players like Luis Severino (three years, $67 million), Frankie Montas (two years, $34 million), and Clay Holmes (three years, $38 million) setting a market standard for annual average salary, it’s hard to envision the Brew Crew making any significant signings.
Per the usual, that leaves Milwaukee looking for under the radar players to sign. One pitcher they could consider is 32 year old Kyle Hart. The left-handed hurler is coming off a tremendous season with the NC Dinos. Kyle Hart reportedly has generated interest from 16 MLB teams.
What is the current state of the Milwaukee Brewers starting rotation?
Barring any trades, the Brewers have four starting pitchers that appear to be locks for next season. Those players are Freddy Peralta, Brandon Woodruff, Tobias Myers, and Aaron Civale. D.L. Hall and Aaron Ashby are two players that will be competing for a rotation spot. Robert Gasser additionally figures to be in the mix around mid-season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Other possibilities includes prospects Carlos Rodriguez, Logan Henderson, Chad Patrick, and Jacob Misiorowski.
LHP Kyle Hart desperately wants another shot to prove himself at the MLB level
Kyle Hart desperately wants another opportunity in the big leagues. His only prior chance came during the shortened 2020 season when he got tagged with 19 earned runs over 11 innings pitched. Kyle Hart recently told MassLive that he is embarrassed by those numbers and he believes that he is a middle of the rotation type of pitcher.
“There have been times where I’m even embarrassed to tell people I was in the big leagues because they’re going to Google me and be like, ‘This dip-(expletive) had a (expletive) 16 ERA. There’s a piece of me that is pissed off and embarrassed and would love to get a sample size of a couple hundred innings and see what we’re looking at.
“If I have (an ERA of) 15 (again), I’ll go dig a hole and you’ll never hear from me again. But deep down, I believe I’m a competitive middle-of-the-rotation guy. It’s hard to explain that to people when you have four terrible outings.”
Kyle Hart 2024 KBO statistics
2024 was a breakout season for Kyle Hart, as he posted a 2.69 ERA across 26 starts and 157 innings pitched overseas. He also struck out batters at a 28.8% rate and walked just 6% of them. While his low-90s fastball doesn’t overpower hitters, his success was fueled by a high swing-and-miss rate on his slider and excellent command
After posting a 2.69 ERA across 26 GS and 157 innings, Kyle Hart is generating MLB interest.
The Milwaukee Brewers absolutely should be one team looking into him given how the SP market has looked so far.

As reported by Robert Murray, Kyle Hart currently has had at least 16 teams express interest in him. This has led many to believe that he will land a multi year deal. Fangraphs estimated him to get an average annual value of $16 million, but this seems like an extreme over projection. A multi year deal similar to what the Brewers gave Josh Lindblom in 2020 (three years, $9 million) seems much more reasonable for a pitcher with a lot left to prove.
