This offseason, the Milwaukee Brewers spent a great deal of time and resources finding arms to supplement their pitching rotation. Indeed, each of the three trades Milwaukee made this winter landed them pitchers who could realistically make the Opening Day roster. To be sure, not all of them will; but it is not out of the realm of possibility that they all appear in the Majors at some point in 2026.
Of course, the Brewers made pitching depth a priority of theirs last year as well. However, they went about it a bit differently, signing free agent left-handed starter Jose Quintana after Spring Training had already started. He had a solid year in Milwaukee, but has been signed by another team for what will be his 15th MLB season.
Former Milwaukee Brewers starter Jose Quintana has signed with the Colorado Rockies

In his lone season in Milwaukee, Quintana went 11-7 with a 3.96 ERA in 24 starts. He made Brewers franchise history after he made his season debut, winning each of his first four starts.
He did, though, struggle more as the season went on. In the first half of 2025, he had a 3.28 ERA in 13 starts. After the All-Star Break, he had a 4.77 ERA in 11 starts. Quintana especially struggled in September and October, when he had a 5.82 ERA in just three starts.
It is perhaps due to his late-season collapse that the Brewers decided not to bring him back in 2026. However, he will return to the Majors in 2026 as he has agreed to a one-year contract with the Colorado Rockies:

For his career, Quintana is 113-110 with a 3.76 ERA.
