The Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Ranger played a wild game on Wednesday afternoon that ended with the Brew Crew earning a walk-off victory in extra innings and a sweep of the reigning World Series champions. In this game a rare feat was accomplished for just the third time in Brewers franchise history.
Milwaukee Brewers Jake Bauers hit a grand slam against the Texas Rangers (watch).

During the third inning Jake Bauers launched a massive 444 foot grand slam to dead center that gave Milwaukee a 4-1 lead. Bauers ambushed the first pitch that he saw and hit it off the scoreboard. This also marked the second grand slam of the series as Rhys Hoskins had one on Monday night.

Jackson Chourio hit an inside the park home run (watch).

An inning later Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio recorded an inside the park home run. The baseball got past a diving Rangers outfielder and Chourio was able to motor all the way around the bases and score easily.

A grand slam and inside the park home run has happened on just two other occasions in the history of the Milwaukee Brewers franchise.

Per Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Jake Bauers grand slam and Jackson Chourio’s inside the park home run marked just the third time in franchise history that both have occurred during the same game. The other two occasions both came on one play. Roberto Pena in 1970 and Ben Oglivie in 1980 both had inside the park grand slams.
Today marked just the third time in franchise history that the Brewers had a grand slam and inside-the-park HR in the same game.
On both previous occasions they came on the same play (Roberto Pena on May 30, 1970 vs. Detroit and Ben Oglivie on Sept. 26, 1980 at Oakland).
