Milwaukee Brewers rookie of the year candidate Jackson Chourio delivered a go-ahead ninth inning home run against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night. That hit was his third of the night and it ended up being the difference in the ballgame. Prior to that he also stole his 20th base of the season and inked his name in the franchise record books alongside Ryan Braun.
A day prior Jackson Chourio had an injury scare as he rolled his ankle on first base.
On Friday the Brewers played a doubleheader against the Cincinnati Reds. Jackson Chourio rolled his ankle in the first game, but was not removed. He didn’t play in the second game of the doubleheader. On Saturday he reported waking up and feeling no pain in his ankle.
Jackson Chourio joins Ryan Braun as the only other Milwaukee Brewers rookie with a 15 home run and 20 stolen base season.
The home run that Chourio hit on Saturday night was his 17th of the year, but earlier in the game he swiped his 20th stolen base of the year. This puts him in elite company for the only other rookie to do that in Brewers franchise history was Ryan Braun in 2007.
Jackson Chourio’s third hit of the night is a go-ahead homer!
And yesterday we were all holding our breath as he momentarily could barely put weight on his ankle

How many MLB rookies 21 years or younger have accomplished a 20/20/20 season?
Entering play on September 1 Jackson Chourio already has 20 doubles and 20 stolen bases. As mentioned his home run count currently sits at 17. If he can manage to hit three more long balls this year he will join Mike Trout and Julio Rodriguez as the only rookies 21 years or younger in MLB history to have a 20/20/20 season.
