The Milwaukee Brewers are 8-7 on the season following their frustrating 5-4 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night. Despite leading 4-0 in the ninth inning, Milwaukee dropped the game after disappointing outings by relieves Joel Payamps and Trevor Megill.
Prior to that ninth inning, though, the Brewers looked very much the superior team. Facing their former ace, 2021 NL Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes, Milwaukee got out to an early lead and appeared poised to earn the win until that forgettable bottom half of the ninth.
Milwaukee Brewers Young Star Jackson Chourio Continued His Hot Hitting

After the Brewers scored two runs against Burnes and the Diamondbacks in the second inning, Jackson Chourio came to plate after going 0-2 against Burnes in his first two at bats.
As he has often so far this season, Chourio swung at the first pitch he saw, an 88 mph cutter, which is consider Burnes’ best pitch. The ball sailed 448 feat and over the fence in left center field.
Later, Chourio would add a single.
He now has five home runs on the year and a career-high 14-game hitting streak.
Milwaukee Brewers Outfielder Jackson Chourio Joins Carlos Delgado on an Exclusive List

On Opening Day, Chourio went 0-5 with five strikeouts, leaving many wondering (after just one game) if his sensational rookie season last year, when he became the youngest player in Major League history to post a 20-20 season, was a fluke.
All Chourio has done since that forgettable Opening Day is get at least one hit in every game since.
He is now hitting .313/.309/.657 with five home runs and 17 RBI on the season.
According to MLB stat guru Sarah Langs, Chourio is just the second player in Major League history to have five home runs and 17 RBI in his first 15 games a season while being 21 years old or younger:
5+ home runs & 17+ RBI in team’s first 15 games of season at age 21 or younger (rbi official since 1920):

As one can see from the post above, the only other player age 21 or younger to accomplish the feat was Carlos Delgado in 1994.
