The Milwaukee Brewers had many question marks regarding the bullpen coming into the 2023 season as they retooled this position by adding players through trade, a Rule-5 Draft selection, and waivers cliams. With Devin Williams being the only “big name” returning, fans worried that the bullpen was the weakest position. However, seven games in, the bullpen has proved they might be the best in the league.
Milwaukee Brewers bullpen: Impressive stats
The Brewer’s bullpen has not given up a run in the last 15.1 innings pitched. Seven games in, they have a combined 1.13 ERA, .159 AVG, 0.96 WHIP, and 4.88 H/9IP. All those stats are second in the league behind only the Texas Rangers. Combined with young and veteran talent, this bullpen has been one of the most dominant in the league so far.
Will the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen keep this up?
The Brewers have faced three offensive-heavy teams so far this year. The bullpen is showing that they can shut down games very quickly and get the team a win. It is very early in the season but fans are wondering if this will continue all season because after the trade of Josh Hader last year the Brewers had one of the worst bullpens in the league.
So far, the Brewers look to have the bullpen back like they did in years past. With the team now showing that they can score runs, and many of them, the starting and relief pitchers don’t have the pressure on their shoulders. Look for the Brewers to make a deep run this season if this continues.
