Milwaukee Brewers Make Major League History in 8th Consecutive Victory on Friday Night

The Milwaukee Brewers are the hottest team in Major League Baseball, having picked up right where they left off before the 2025 MLB All-Star Break. Prior to the Midsummer Classic, Milwaukee won seven games in a row, highlighted by a perfect 6-0 homestand that included sweeps of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals.

And on Friday, this time facing the Dodgers in Los Angeles, the Brewers emerged victorious again, winning 2-0 behind the strong pitching performance of Quinn Priester and the unexpected offensive boost from rookie third baseman Caleb Durbin. The light-hitting infielder had an RBI double to give Milwaukee the lead in the fifth inning, and then added a solo home run in the seventh.

Priester, on the defensive side, pitched six strong innings, allowing just three hits while striking out 10 Dodgers hitters, including Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman in a row in the first inning.

The Milwaukee Brewers Have Made Major League Baseball History

The victory over the Dodgers last night was Milwaukee’s eighth in a row. They are the hottest team in baseball and are winning games on the back of solid overall pitching.

In fact, the pitching has been so good as of late that their victory also made history:

The @Brewers are the first team in MLB history to have an 8-game span in the regular season with:

As one can see from the post above, the Brewers are the first team in MLB history to have an eight game winning streak in which their pitchers struck out 85 or more hitters, allowed fewer than 45 hits, and allowed fewer than 15 runs in that span.

Additionally, Milwaukee is the only team in Major League Baseball this season to have two different eight game wining streaks.

Of course, the Brewers and their fans would love to see the offense become more consistent with a little bit more power. But for now, Milwaukee is winning games at a higher rate than any team in the sport, and they are doing so because of their stellar pitching staff.
