The Milwaukee Brewers could use some luck on the injury front. Their starting pitching staff has been decimated by injury, top catching prospect Jeferson Quero under went season-ending shoulder surgery, and outfielder Garrett Mitchell has not yet appeared in a big league game.
This year Garrett Mitchell had been sidelined by a finger fracture sustained late in Spring Training. It took longer than expected to heal, but he has been on injury rehab assignment since June 10. On Wednesday, June 26 he had an injury scare, but the following day he was seen back in the Nashville Sounds starting lineup.

While on injury rehab assignment with the Brewers Triple-A affiliate team the Nashville Sounds Garrett Mitchell was having himself quite the night. The 25 year old had been 2-3 with a home run, double, two walks, and two outfield assists entering a ninth inning at-bat. Unfortunately he left his final at-bat after swinging and grabbing his hamstring.

Garrett Mitchell was back in the Nashville Sounds starting lineup the following day, but was removed early.
One day after leaving his final at-bat grabbing his hamstring Garrett Mitchell was inserted back into the Nashville Sounds starting lineup. He ended up going 1-2 in the game, but was removed early. No reason has been provided to as why, but the Nashville Sounds were down eight runs by the end of the third inning and lost by a score of 10-0.
Garrett Mitchell only has a limited amount of injury rehab days remaining.
Position players placed on injury rehab assignment are granted a grand total of 20 days in the minor leagues before their organization has to make a decision on whether to activate them or option them to the minor leagues. Garrett Mitchell began his injury rehab assignment on June 10. Within the next few days we will know if the Milwaukee Brewers intend to call him up to the big leagues or use one of his three minor league options.
