The Milwaukee Brewers finished up a three-game series on Sunday with the Houston Astros. They lost in two out of the three games, and on Sunday they fell 9-4. Milwaukee looked to regroup as they faced one of the worst teams in the National League, the Miami Marlins. During the first game of another three-game series, the Brewers looked stunned and absolutely frustrated as they fell 3-2 to the Marlins in extra-innings.
Brewers starting pitcher Joe Ross left the game during the first inning as we had dealing with a lower back strain. He’s put up a 2-4 record thus far in nine starts with a 4.50 ERA and 35 strikeouts. With the loss, the Brewers have a record of 27-20. They are in first place in the National League Central division, a game and a half over the Chicago Cubs. Miami moved to 16-33 after the win, 18 and a half games behind the first-place Phillies.
Milwaukee Brewers Frustrated After Losing 3-2 to the 16-33 Marlins

Both of these teams would shut each other out during the first five innings of this ballgame. It wouldn’t be until Brewers second baseman Andruw Monasterio ripped a solo home run just over the center field wall to give Milwaukee the first run of the game.
During the next inning, Willy Adames was up going up against Marlins starting pitcher Ryan Weathers with runners at the corners and one out. Milwaukee’s left fielder Christian Yelich was the runner at third after Weathers threw a strike, Marlins catcher Nick Fortes threw the ball back to Miami’s starting pitcher. As the ball was coming back into Weather’s hands, Yelich stole home and was called safe on the play, giving the Brewers a 2-0 lead.
Marlins Start Up A Comeback

Miami would finally get on the scoreboard during the bottom of the seventh inning. With runners at first and second, Marlins left fielder Nick Gordon hit an RBI single off Willy Adames’ glove, which then rolled into the outfield.
Two innings later during the bottom of the ninth, with two outs and a runner on second base Marlins second baseman Otto López hit a fly ball to right field that looked obtainable to catch, however, Brewers right fielder Jackson Chourio was not able to get to the ball in time, allowing the tying run to score as we headed into extra innings. In the next inning, the bottom of the tenth inning with one out and the bases loaded, Marlins first baseman Josh Bell walked it off as he hit an RBI single to right field.
Top Performers from the Brewers 3-2 Loss

Marlins starting pitcher Ryan Weathers pitched seven innings allowing one run on two hits, and three walks while striking out eight Brewers. Both Josh Bell and Nick Gordon went two for four during the win. Due to Joe Ross leaving the game with an injury, the Brewers management used seven different relievers during this game. Andruw Monasterio had the only multi-hit game for the Brewers as he went two for four.
