During spring training the Milwaukee Brewers brought in Luke Voit to compete for a roster spot. The former home run champion ended up playing well enough to get a big league contract and he made the opening day roster. Unfortunately it has been a sluggish start to the season for him and he now has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a neck strain.
According to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Luke Voit reported significant stiffness in his neck that popped up on Mothers Day. The stiffness is impactful enough that it will require a stint on the injured list.

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman and designated hitter Luke Voit has been placed on the injured list due to a neck strain.
It has been a very slow start to the 2023 season for Luke Voit. His slash line through his first 68 at-bats is dismal .221/.284/.265. He is yet to hit a home run, he has just three extra base hits on the year, and he is striking out 36.5% of the time.
Given his struggles and this injury popping up the Milwaukee Brewers went out and signed first baseman/outfielder Darin Ruf. Darin Ruf has hit left-handed pitchers extremely well throughout his career. If he performs well there is a real possibility that long term he retains a roster spot over Luke Voit.
How well Darin Ruf performs while Luke Voit is out is something worth monitoring. It is hard to image that the Brewers can swing having both of these players on the active roster simultaneously.
