The Milwaukee Brewers are hoping to not only repeat the regular season success that had in 2024 when they won 93 games and won the National League Central Division for the second straight year, but also advance in the postseason for the first time since 2018. In order to do that, of course, they will need to have exceptional pitching, both in the starting rotation and the bullpen.
That being said, there are still some uncertainties on the team regarding the depth for both. Last season, Milwaukee used 17 different starting pitchers as injuries plagued the roster. Only Freddy Peralta and Tobias Myers made 27 or more starts among pitchers who are returning to the team in 2025. Two-time All-Star closer Devin Williams, of course, was traded to the New York Yankees. While Trevor Megill figures to be the closer going forward, the Brewers bullpen was the second-best in MLB last season in terms of ERA and has to be able to replicate that going forward.
Milwaukee Brewers LHP DL Hall Figured to Fit into the Pitching Plans Somwhere

Last offseason, the Brewers traded 2021 NL Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles for infielder Joey Ortiz and left-handed pitcher DL Hall. Both players made the Opening Day roster in 2024, though only one of them had any kind of measurable impact on the team last season.
Of course, that was Ortiz who hit .239/.329/.398 with 11 home runs, 60 RBI, and 11 stolen bases while playing third base. Hall, unfortunately, spent much of his 2024 campaign injured.
And when he was healthy, well, he was inconsistent at best. Hall finished the year 1-2 with a 5.02 ERA in 13 appearances (seven starts).
Granted, he has only pitched in 42 games during the course of his young MLB career. However, early performances show that he is a much better relief pitcher than starting pitcher.
In 34 career relief appearances, Hall is 4-1 with a 3.27 ERA. As a starter, though, he is just 1-2 with a 6.49 ERA.
Milwaukee Brewers LHP DL Hall Is Out for Weeks with Injury

With so many questions in the Brewers starting rotation following Peralta, Myers, and Nestor Cortes, Hall figured to be one of the pitchers contending for a job opening up games. If he did not win a spot there, though, he was surely headed for the bullpen given his success there during the course of his young career.
Unfortunately, it does not sound like he will be getting either job, at least to start the season. Manager Pat Murphy revealed today that the young left-hander is out for several weeks with a lat injury:

Hopefully he can get his body right and be ready to contribute to the team before too long. He will not be the only injured Brewer from now until the start of the season, and the team will need him at some point.
