The Milwaukee Brewers have gotten a ton of value from unexpected bullpen pitchers this year. Bryan Hudson, who was acquired via trade from the Los Angeles Dodgers, is having an All-Star type of season. Jared Koenig, who joined the team on a minor league deal during the off-season, has a sub 2.00 ERA through 25 innings pitched. Now Enoli Paredes is starting to make a name for himself as well.
Enoli Paredes joined the Milwaukee Brewers on a minor league deal during the off-season.
After spending a decade in the Houston Astros organization Enoli Paredes elected free agency upon conclusion of the 2023 season. He made his MLB debut in 2020 and played a key role out of the bullpen that year as he had a 3.05 ERA across 22 appearances and also pitched in seven post-season games. Injuries hindered him in 2021, he made just three big league appearances in 2022, and then zero a season ago. Milwaukee signed him to a minor league deal in November and he had his contract selected by them at the end of May 2024.
Against the Chicago White Sox Enoli Paredes recorded his first career MLB save.
With a one run lead in the eighth inning manager Pat Murphy called upon Enoli Paredes to inherit a situation composed of two runners on base and nobody out. Paredes proceeded to get a ground out and then an inning ending double play as Tommy Pham was tagged out at home plate and fireworks ensued afterwards.

In the ninth inning Paredes faced four batters with Paul Dejong being the only White Sox batter to reach via a hit by pitch. Across the multi inning save he threw just 13 pitches with nine of them being strikes. This was his first career MLB save.
Enoli Paredes says his confidence is higher than 100% right now.
Post game Enoli Paredes indicates that if there was a number higher than 100% that’s where his confidence would be right now. Aside from escaping an inherited jam and recording a multi inning save on just 13 pitches the 28 year old hasn’t allowed an earned run across his first seven innings with the Milwaukee Brewers. His big 95 MPH+ fastball and slider passes the eye test and he could start becoming a more trusted arm out of Pat Murphy’s slew of firemen.
Enoli Paredes was all smiles after his first MLB save. “If there’s a number higher than 100%,” he said of his confidence, “then I would say higher than 100%.”
