The Milwaukee Brewers are one of few teams who have not spent a significant amount of money in free agency this off-season. Leading up to pitchers and catchers reporting, they had made just three MLB signings (this does not include players acquired via trade or in the Rule-5 draft). However, once they found out the severity of DL Hall’s injury, they wasted no time signing a replacement.
DL Hall will miss several weeks with an injury

Upon reporting to spring training, the Brewers announced that southpaw DL Hall will be shut down for a few weeks after sustaining a LAT injury. These types of injuries have caused starting pitchers to miss months of game action when sustained during the season, so it’s likely that the team is anticipating Hall being unavailable to begin the 2025 campaign.
Tyler Alexander has been signed by the Milwaukee Brewers

30 year old veteran left-hander Tyler Alexander signed with the Brew Crew following Hall’s injury news. He is coming off a season with the Tampa Bay Rays where he operated in the role previously occupied by Bryse Wilson, where he would throw multiple innings in relief and occasionally had an opener used before him. Alexander tossed 107.2 innings last year and had a 5.10 ERA.
Who were the three other MLB signings by the Brewers?

As mentioned, Alexander is the fourth MLB signing by Milwaukee this off-season. The other three also went to pitchers as the team added Grant Wolfram, Grant Anderson, and Elvin Rodriguez in free agency. Of this group, Alexander has the most big league experience and should make the Opening Day roster.
