The Milwaukee Brewers have been battling injuries to their pitching staff all season. Players like Brandon Woodruff, Wade Miley, and Robert Gasser won’t return this season, but D.L. Hall, J.B. Bukauskas, Joe Ross, Jared Koenig, Enoli Paredes, and Devin Williams are all at various points in their recovery from injury.
Recently the team announced that one Brewers pitcher is expected to re-join the team in the near future while another will begin a rehab assignment.
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher D.L. Hall will re-join the team in the near future.
According to Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel D.L. Hall made his last rehab start on July 4. His last outing with the Nashville Sounds was cut short by a rain delay but he finished with a stat line of 3.0 innings pitched, three hits, three runs, zero earned runs, three walks, two strike outs, and 61 pitches thrown. Hogg also indicated that his role upon returning to the big leagues is still to be determined.
Which Milwaukee Brewers player is vulnerable to losing his roster spot once D.L. Hall returns?
D.L. Hall is currently on the 60-day IL, which means that he does not count toward the 40-man roster total. Once activated a roster move will have to be made so that Milwaukee does not have more than 40 players on their 40-man roster. Recently added Rob Zastryzny may be the player most vulnerable to losing his roster spot to D.L. Hall.
Joe Ross is scheduled to pitch in a minor league rehab assignment game with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers social media team on X made a post indicating that Joe Ross will make an appearance for them on July 6 as a part of his injury rehab assignment. A back issue has kept him sidelined since the middle of May. MLB.com lists Joe Ross’s expected date back to be late July at the earliest.
