Devin Williams is money, folks. The Milwaukee Brewers reliever earned his second save of the season in spectacular fashion Wednesday night, as he mowed down the Los Angeles Dodgers’ version of Murderers’ Row to close out the game and seal a 5-4 victory for his team.
Williams was called on to the mound with the Brewers holding just a one-run lead at the top of the ninth inning versus the Dodgers. It was never going to be an easy task for Williams, especially since the next three batters he’d face were Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman — players with four MVPs between them.
Those MVPs did not matter to Williams, though. He got Ohtani on a flyout, struck out Betts, and for the finale, he induced a groundout from Freeman.

That was quite a performance from Williams, who isn’t even a month removed from when he made his 2024 MLB season debut. Williams was activated from the 60-day injured list late last July after dealing with a stress fracture in his back.
