Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy slammed his team’s lack of confidence and losing their edge in two straight to losses to the Chicago Cubs.

“Some of that is being behind,” he said on Saturday.
“Still, it seems like we’ve misplaced our edge, we’re not playing with confidence. I’m not losing hope. I’m not worried about it. I know who these people are, so I’m confident they will find it.”
They had to play a great sense of urgency on Sunday amid all the injury woes and personal struggles of players to avoid a home sweep. And they did.

The team delivered with a 4-0 victory, with all those runs coming in the sixth inning. The win denied the Cubs their first sweep of the Brewers in a decade.
Brewers are back in winning ways and are just half a win short to return to .500.
Milwaukee Brewers net big win
Murphy does not see it as just another win. He thinks it is a big one because of the quality of opponents.
He is particularly impressed with one player – Pete Crow-Armstrong.

We shut out one of the best offensive teams in baseball, if not the best. They’re solid through and through. They’re just old enough, just experienced enough. Their young guys are at the peak of their game. The blue-haired kid is kind of a freak right now with the way that he’s playing. The new kid with the huge feet – that kid, what a hitter. I just notice him when he’s digging in the box, like, ‘God, it’s him.’ What a hitter.
Crow-Armstrong may have recorded just one hit in the third game but he generally owned the Brewers in the first two. The 23-year-old center fielder had two home runs on Saturday that left his teammates impressed.
Have the Brewers found their edge? Murphy does not want to speak with finality but he commends his team and Freddy Peralta for the recovery.
“It’s a great ballclub [Cubs] through and through, so I’m really proud of our ballclub to respond the way we did. I don’t know if we’ve found our misplaced edge, but Freddy Peralta set the tone and wouldn’t be denied.”
