Milwaukee Brewers 21st ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline, Craig Yoho is generating a lot of buzz.  The 2023 eighth round pick hasn’t pitched in the Majors yet, but his changeup has the making and shape to be an Airbender 2.0.  With Devin Williams changeup being coined the airbender, another nickname has surfaced for Yoho’s.

Using last year’s data, here is how Williams and Yoho’s changeups compared

    • Devin Williams

      • 84 MPH, 42 inches vertical movement, 19 inches arm side movement, 49% whiff rate
    • Craig Yoho

      • 78 MPH, 47 inches vertical movement, 18 inches arm side movement, 45% whiff rate

Brewers statistician and research man Dominic Cotroneo was having a field day with Yoho’s Spring Training debut.  One suggestion that he received to nickname Yoho’s changeup is “the Yoyo”.  This is quite a clever nickname and was provided by Ezra Siegel, content manager for the Brewers.
