The Milwaukee Brewers top 30 prospect rankings per MLB Pipeline recently got updated.  MLB Pipeline also recently released their new top 100 rankings that now includes one 19 year old shortstop from the Brew Crew that has had a tremendous season so far.

A quick look at the Milwaukee Brewers updated top 30 prospect rankings.

Jeferson Quero is now the Brewers’ No. 2 prospect behind Jackson Chourio.

There is a new number one on the Brewers top 30 prospect rankings list as currently injured catcher Jeferson Quero is on top.  The 21 year old catcher underwent season ending shoulder surgery after sustaining an injury on Opening Day in the minor leagues.  Despite this he is now ranked above pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who is number two overall

Rounding out the top five is infielder Tyler Black, shortstop Cooper Pratt, and southpaw Robert Gasser.  Pratt has taken a huge jump up in the rankings.  This year he is slashing .320/.414/.404 in Single-A and has reached base safely in 48 out of his last 49 games.

Milwaukee Brewers shortstop prospect Cooper Pratt has entered MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 prospect rankings.

The Brewers newest addition to MLB Pipeline’s top 100 rankings is Cooper Pratt.  He is currently ranked 96th overall and joins Tyler Black (34), Jacob Misiorowski (33), and Jeferson Quero (22) as the others within the top 100.  Of this group Pratt is the youngest and he is currently in his first full professional baseball season as he was a sixth round 2023 MLB Draft selection by Milwaukee.

Is Cooper Pratt the Brewers shortstop of the future?

    Perfect Game 21

During the High School showcase circuit last year Cooper Pratt drew comparisons to shortstop Gunner Henderson due to his size (6’4″) and showcasing good ability in all five skills.  MLB Pipeline has him graded at a 55 hit, 50 power, 50 run, 55 arm, and 55 field.  Scouts believe he has what it takes to stick at shortstop and depending upon what the Brewers roster looks like in a few years he very well could be in consideration as their future shortstop.

He has the right instincts to play deep in the hole at shortstop, and his strong arm also has the accuracy needed to make him a potential defensive asset. The Brewers got him some early looks at second base to keep him up the middle, but his size and throwing ability could work at third too if future roster considerations dictate a move.
