The Milwaukee Brewers have had prospects play in the MLB futures game before. This year, the Brewers will only have one prospect play in the game on July 13 at 3 p.m. CT at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
The one prospect who was selected for the game was rising shortstop Cooper Pratt. He is only 19 years old and was a sixth-round pick (182nd overall) in the 2023 MLB Draft. Cooper Pratt is a right-handed batter and also throws right-handed.
Pratt is not projected to reach the major leagues until the 2027 season and that is impressive that he will be in the future’s game at just a teenager. Cooper Pratt is currently playing for the Carolina Mudcats in Single-A. This season with Carolina, he has a .312 batting average with two home runs and 31 RBIs, along with 19 stolen bases. His on-base percentage is .411.
It will be interesting to see when the Milwaukee Brewers fourth-ranked prospect gets called up to High-A. He is also one of four Milwaukee Brewers prospects who is ranked in the Top 100 prospects list on MLB.com. Cooper Pratt is ranked the 96th-best prospect on MLB.com.

I don’t think I fully realized how great the Brewers’ 2023 Draft class was until now.

Where is he going to play?
Ortiz is MLB SS next 4-5 years. And Cooper Pratt is a far superior SS prospect— BrockinSB (@HiuraFan) July 3, 2024
A lot of fans are high on the future of Cooper Pratt. They do have Joey Ortiz on the roster, but he is playing third base mainly. Willy Adames will have an expiring contract.
If Adames does get re-signed, it can’t be a long-term deal for the Milwaukee Brewers. Cooper Pratt is the future at the position and general manager Matt Arnold has done a good job finding talent in the MLB Draft.
