The Milwaukee Brewers had several of their minor league affiliate teams make the post-season this year. Unfortunately both the Carolina Mudcats and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers have seen their playoff runs come to an end already. In Double-A the Biloxi Shuckers are bound for a semi final series and the Shuckers recently learned they will be getting reinforcements as a rising prospect was promoted to their team.
One rising Milwaukee Brewers prospect has been promoted to Double-A and will play in the semi-final series.
According to multiple sources the Milwaukee Brewers are promoting infielder Cooper Pratt to Double-A. The 20 year old was recently announced as the Carolina League Utility Player of the Year in which he slashed .295/.394/.395 with 25 stolen bases.
After 73 games in Carolina Cooper Pratt was promoted to Wisconsin. In 23 games he slashed .221/.258/.442. His bat and his glove shined during the Timber Rattlers playoff run and he now will get to continue playing baseball as he is advancing to Double-A.
Cooper Pratt is rising up several prospect ranking leader boards.
After being selected in the sixth round out of High School in the 2023 MLB draft Cooper Pratt has shined during his first full minor league season. ESPN Baseball Insider Kiley McDaniel has Pratt ranked as the 51st best prospect in baseball. Pratt cracked several top 100 lists earlier this year but his impressive 2024 season has resulted in him continuing to climb.
When could Cooper Pratt appear with the Milwaukee Brewers?
Exciting as Cooper Pratt’s rise has been he is likely still a few years away from being in consideration of a big league debut. Pratt recently turned 20 and is the same age as Jackson Chourio, but it would take quite an impressive start to the 2025 minor league season for him to get pushed to Triple-A and then once there he would have to continue proving himself. 2026 or 2027 is a realistic estimated time until the Major Leagues.
