Milwaukee Brewers avoided losing their first home series of the 2025 season by going off early in the game against the Athletics on Sunday.

The hosts did not allow their visitors to have any say in the match from the get go as they stole bases from moment to another en route to recording nine stolen bases, breaking the team’s 33-year-old record of steals in a single game.
The onslaught started early as they stole six bases in only the first inning. They got to no. 9 only in the fourth inning.
Brice Turang led everyone with three steals. He now has a total eight for the season. Sal Frelick grabbed two, now with a total of seven so far.
Rhys Hoskins, Caleb Durbin, William Contreras and Christian Yelich have one each.
The basemen were not the only ones who were sensational in the win. Newcomer Logan Henderson also put up a game to remember. He pitched in six innings and struck out batters nine times.

Athletics manager Mark Kotsay felt they were dominated after the game.
“This club, they run,” he said. “They took advantage of some slow times to the plate with Springs today. They read his leg kick really well.
Milwaukee Brewers players’ reaction to record breaker
For Turang, he thinks that’s the kind of game they can deliver on a consistent basis.
“That’s the game we play,” he said. “So we’ve just got to keep playing it.”

Frelick, on the other hand, thinks it is all about rhythm.
“You kind of fall into a rhythm sometimes. You get a couple of stolen bases and you’re like, ‘Maybe the catcher’s thinking about it, and I’ll keep running until somebody gets thrown out,'” he explained.
