Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Brice Turang has been a pivotal player in the team’s success this year. He plays gold glove caliber defense, bats leadoff, and he steals a lot of bases. Against the Cincinnati Reds he swiped his 40th base of the year and became just the ninth player in Brewers franchise history to accomplish this.
Only nine Milwaukee Brewers players have stolen at least 40 bases in a single season.
The Brewers have had 13 seasons in which a player has stolen at least 40 bases in a season, but Brice Turang is just the ninth different player to accomplish it. Other Milwaukee players to swipe bags include Tommy Harper, Scott Podsednik, Jonathan Villar, Pat Listach, Paul Molitor, Jean Segura, Darryl Hamilton, and Carlos Gomez.
Brice Turang stole his 40th base. First Brewer to get there since Jonathan Villar in 2016.

Who holds the Milwaukee Brewers record for stolen bases in a single-season?
Tommy Harper holds the Milwaukee Brewers franchise record of stolen bases in a single season with 73. He did this during the 1969 season. Scott Podsednik came close in 2004 with 70 stolen bases, Jonathan Villar (2016) is third with 62, and then Pat Listach (1992) is the only other player over 50 with 54.
Brice Turang is also in an exclusive 30/40 club.
Per Nugget Chef on X Brice Turang is one of three MLB players this year with 30 extra base hits and 40 stolen bases. The others include Shohei Ohtani and Elly De La Cruz. Nugget Chef also indicated that seven other Brewers have been a part of the 30/40 club with Jonathan Villar being the most recent.
