MLB Pipeline provided a full highlight reel of Payne’s performance on Saturday night. This includes video of his hustle double in which he turned what looked like a bloop single into a double as the infielders forgot to cover second base. What is in store for Braylon Payne for the remainder of 2024?
Braylon Payne joined the Carolina Mudcats at the tail end of their regular season. Starting Tuesday, September 10 the Mudcats will begin post-season play with a best of three game series. If they win that series they will play in the Championship series that is also a best of three game series. Following what is left of Carolina’s season the Brewers could elect to have Payne play in the Arizona Fall League (mid October through early November), but it is also possible that they have him go through an off-season training program in preparation for his first full Minor League season in 2025.
