The Milwaukee Brewers just finished up the month of June winning two out of three games against the Chicago Cubs. They won the first game 4-2, lost game two 5-3, and took a 7-1 victory during the final game of the series. Milwaukee has now started up a four-game series with the Colorado Rockies, who are arguably besides the Miami Marlins the worst team in the National League. With the game tied at seven after the bottom of the ninth, the Rockies took a walk-off 8-7 victory.
Milwaukee obtained their 50th win of the season and is now 50-35. They lead the NL Central by six games. With the loss, Colorado now has the worst record in the National League at 29-55. The Rockies were truly underestimated in this first game, it will be interesting to see if Milwaukee will respect Colorado’s play during the next two games.
Milwaukee Brewers Atrocious 8-7 Loss to the Rockies

During the bottom of the second inning, Rockies center fielder Brenton Doyle smashed a two-run home run to straightaway center field to give Colorado the first lead of the game. An inning later, Rockies designated hitter Charlie Blackmon mashed his fourth home run of the season, a solo shot to right-center field.
At the top of the fourth inning, the Milwaukee Brewers finally got on the board when right fielder Jackson Chourio lined a two-run single to left field, cutting Colorado’s lead to one. Four batters later, Brewers center fielder Blake Perkins hit an RBI single to right-center field to tie the game up at three.
Brewers Manager Ejected & Rockies Take the Lead

Brewers manager Pat Murphy was ejected for the third time this season during the top of the fifth inning on a bunt attempt by third baseman Joey Ortiz, who was called out on the play as he ran out of the base path. Murphy was not happy, as Ortiz fell on the play and could have been injured.
Milwaukee’s catcher William Contreras knocked a solo shot to right field to give the Brewers the lead at the top of the fifth. A half inning later, Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon tied the game up at four when he hit an RBI forceout. Two batters later, Colorado’s second baseman Brendan Rodgers popped an RBI single over Brewers second baseman Brice Turang to give the Rockies the lead. An inning later, Rockies left fielder Nolan Jones cracked an RBI double to left field giving Colorado a 6-4 lead.
Game Tied Up Again

At the top of the eighth inning, Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames made it a one-run game by hitting an RBI single to center field. Three batters later, first baseman Rhys Hoskins tied the game up when he hit a sacrifice fly. Milwaukee’s catcher Eric Haase gave his team the go-ahead run when he ripped an RBI single to left field. Brenton Doyle hit his second home run of the game, a solo shot to right field at the bottom of the eighth to tie this game up once again.
Rockies Take Walk-Off Win

Colorado Rockies right fielder Jake Cave brought home the winning run at the bottom of the tenth inning. Cave cooked a walk-off single to center field to give the Rockies a much-needed win. This was the right fielder’s first career walk-off.
