The Milwaukee Brewers have called up their fourth overall prospect, and best minor league pitcher, Jacob Misiorowski to make his Major League debut on Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. In 13 games (12 starts) with Triple-A Nashville this season, Misiorowski is 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. He has struck out 80 batters in just 63.1 innings, in large part due to his devastating fastball, which has been clocked at 103 mph at times this year.
To make room for Misiorowski in the starting rotation, manager Pat Murphy made the decision to move Aaron Civale to the bullpen.
Apparently, Civale, who will be a free agent at the end of the season, did like the move.
Milwaukee Brewers Pitcher Aaron Civale Has Requested a Trade

Civale, who spent part of the season on the injured list earlier this year, is currently 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA in five starts for the Brewers this season. In his last start, he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up two runs on five hits and two walks in Milwaukee’s 7-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves.
Civale has only pitched into the fifth inning in two of his five starts.
According to a report by Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon, Civale’s agent has approached Brewers general manager Matt Arnold and requested a trade on behalf of his client.
“Civale’s agent, Jack Toffey, said he made the request to Brewers general manager Matt Arnold after the team informed the pitcher he was moving to the bullpen.
“’The conversation was very professional,’ Toffey said Thursday. ‘I just very respectfully said that Aaron would really like an opportunity to continue his career as a starter. He’s going to be a free agent at the end of the year.’
“’Aaron is not angry or banging his fist on the table,’ Toffey said. ‘But it’s a little confusing because he did not pitch his way out of the rotation whatsoever. It’s more of a subjective choice the organization is making.’”
Thursday also happens to be Civale’s 30th birthday.
Milwaukee originally acquired Civale last season in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays for minor leaguer Gregory Barrios. Prior to the season, the Brewers and Civale agreed to an $8 million contract in arbitration.
