Three major deadlines await the Milwaukee Brewers the week of 11/18.  On Tuesday, 11/19 decisions on which Rule-5 draft eligible players to add to the 40-man roster arrives.  That same day, Willy Adames also has to make a decision on whether to accept or reject the qualifying offer.  A few days later, Friday 11/22, the tender deadline arrives.

Which Rule-5 Draft eligible players might the Milwaukee Brewers add to their 40-man roster? 

In baseball certain rules are in place to potentially allow Minor League players to be drafted by outside organizations (Rule-5 Draft).  The age at which they were signed plays a major factor in this.  This year, several Milwaukee Brewers players are eligible to be selected in the Rule-5 Draft, but the ones that stand out are Logan Henderson, Chad Patrick, Shane Smith, Coleman Crow, and Wes Clarke.   Courtesy of Jim Goulart of Brewers Fanatic the full list of eligible players can be found here.

Willy Adames has to make a formal decision on the qualifying offer

Earlier this month the Brewers unsurprisingly extended a qualifying offer to Willy Adames.  The qualifying offer is a one year, $21.05 million deal.  It is basically a guarantee that Adames will reject this offer, but by extending it Milwaukee gets protection because if he signs a long term deal elsewhere this winter they will get draft pick compensation in return.

Tender-deadline preview

Friday marks the deadline in which teams have to formally offer (tender) contracts to unsigned players for the upcoming season.  This deadline primarily affects arbitration eligible players in which this year that includes: Devin Williams, William Contreras, Joel Payamps, Trevor Megill, Hoby Milner, Aaron Civale, Eric Haase, and Nick Mears.  Earlier in November we highlighted two potential non-tender candidates.
