Micah Parsons didn’t pack the stat sheet, but the All-Pro edge rusher still managed to make a significant impact in his Packers debut, a tone-setting 27-13 drubbing of the NFC North rival Detroit Lions.

The Lions arrived at a frenzied Lambeau Field looking to extend their road winning streak over the Packers to four consecutive games, but met a roadblock in the form of Parsons and an invigorated Green Bay defense.

John Kuhn Raves About Micah Parsons’ Packers Debut

Green Bay Packers defensive end Micah Parsons (1) sacks Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (16) during the fourth quarter of their game Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions 27-13.

Parsons finished Sunday with one sack but just one total tackle. He also provided pressure that forced a Jared Goff incompletion on an early third-down, and once again on an Evan Williams interception that sent a tidal wave of momentum surging in the Packers’ direction.

At least one former Packer was impressed by Parsons’ debut.

“All the attention going Micah’s way makes everyone else’s job on that defense so much easier,” Packers legend John Kuhn told me after the game. “The best offense in the NFL last year was 0-3 in the red zone and only managed 13 points. That says it all.”

Limited to just 34 snaps, still working his way back from a back injury, Parsons’ impact even in such a limited sample size has to encourage the Packers about how dominant he and this defense has the potential to be in 2025.
