The Green Bay Packers are heading into what could be an extremely busy offseason. First and foremost, the franchise needs to figure out if they are going to bring Aaron Rodgers back for another season or make the switch to Jordan Love. Another priority will be finding players who can surround and support the quarterback more than was the case this season.
Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs are a great start at the wide receiver position, but the Packers could look to add more talent. They don’t need to overspend on a superstar, but a veteran would be a solid move to make.
Plenty of veteran wide receivers will be available this offseason. Some believe the Packers should target a trade for DeAndre Hopkins or Brandin Cooks, but trading picks away right now would be a mistake. Taking a look at the free agency market would be a much wiser decision.
One Potential Free Agency WR Target For The Packers
Cheesehead TV suggested one intriguing free agency target that Green Bay could take a look at. They suggested that Kansas City Chiefs’ wideout Mecole Hardman could be a potential fit.
Hardman is pretty fast and quick, besides having a great ability to add yards after the catch. He also has horizontal speed, with the Chiefs used frequently with jet motions and end arounds. Hardman could be a solid slot receiver, while Watson and Doubs play outside. As Watson is the only fast receiver the Packers have, it would be imperative to add another one. Moreover, Hardman is also a punt returner — which would be good, even if the Packers re-sign Keisean Nixon, who’s better as a kickoff returner.
Hardman would be an ideal slot receiver, as the article clip above suggests. Green Bay had Randall Cobb in that role this season. Cobb wasn’t horrible, but age has begun catching up and he is not a long-term option.
At 24 years of age, Hardman will be looking for money and the right fit in free agency. He has not been given a consistently large role with the Chiefs. The Packers could absolutely offer him a consistent starting role in the slot.

During the 2022 season with Kansas City, Hardman ended up catching 25 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns. He also picked up two touchdowns on the ground.
Whether the quarterback for the Packers is Rodgers or Love, they need to add more offensive talent. Hardman would be a perfect fit for whoever is under center. He also likely would not command a contract that would break the bank.
Expect to see the Packers look to make aggressive moves this offseason. Even if they keep Rodgers, Green Bay has a lot of work to do to get back into serious playoff contention. Hardman may not end up being a target, but the move would make sense if they made it.
