The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for a huge matchup against the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver this coming Sunday. Some view that game as a potential Super Bowl preview, with both Green Bay and Denver very likely to make the NFL playoffs and remain in contention to earn the top seeds in their respective conferences.
Packers rookie Golden expected to play in Week 15 against the Broncos
Green Bay would love to have all hands on deck for this big game against the Broncos, and rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden is on track to play in Week 15 after some concerns about his availability.
Golden logged in only limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday due to a wrist issue – the same issue that forced him to miss the Week 12 and Week 13 games against the Minnesota Vikings and the Detroit Lions – prompting speculations about his status for the Broncos game. However, he no longer has an injury designation on Friday’s injury report, which also showed that he practiced in full with the team.

So far in the 2025 NFL season, the 22-year-old Golden only has 286 receiving yards on 24 receptions on 33 targets and is still looking for his first touchdown in the league.
Golden has been among the most disappointing rookies in the 2025 NFL season, as he hasn’t produced the numbers many thought he would when Green Bay made him the first wide receiver in over two decades to be selected in the first round of an NFL draft. After a season with the Texas Longhorns, Golden decided to turn pro and was taken 23rd overall by the Packers in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
