Matt LaFleur enters the 2023 season OTAs with a different objective from last season. The Green Bay Packers came into the previous offseason with reliable veterans on both sides of the ball to lead the team. This season, the Packers will have several young players starting in new roles for the Packers. LaFleur will have more of a teaching role this season than he ever has in Green Bay.
Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers offense will be young
The Packers’ offense will be especially young. The Packers’ core of skilled players on offense are all 24 or under, the lone exception being running back Aaron Jones. LaFleur discussed the Packers’ expectations for the 2023 season during his press conference after the draft. According to Ryan Wood with USA Today, LaFleur emphasized at several points the team was young.
“I think the expectations are to put the work in each and every day, and get better and better and better. Never going to limit what we can’t do. We’ve just got to figure out what works best.”

According to Rob Demovsky with ESPN, LaFleur said the Packers would see how much they could handle:
“That’s going to be interesting to see how much we can put on their plates.”
Matt LaFleur went from having veterans at QB/WR/TE (Rodgers, Cobb, Lazard, Tonyan, Lewis etc) to youth all around. “That’s going to be interesting to see how much we can put on their plates.” Mentioned experience at OL & RB. The Packers rookie mini-camp is coming up quickly. You can bet LaFleur and the Packers’ young players will be trying to learn as much as they can before a lot gets heaped on them at the dinner table this season.
