Packers’ Matt LaFleur praises assistant coach after win over Dolphins
The Green Bay Packers scored a massive win on Christmas Day. The Packers overcame a double-digit deficit to the Miami Dolphins to come just one win from a .500 record. They’re now right in the hunt for the seventh NFC Wild Card spot. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur had praise for one coordinator on Monday.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, LaFleur said during his press conference on Monday that special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia had done a great job for the Packers. LaFleur said that special teams had become a strength for the team in recent weeks.

“It’s become a real strength for us.”
The Packers have done much better in special teams since wide receiver Amari Rodgers was fired from the duty. Rodgers was cut from the Packers and seems to be progressing as a wide receiver with the Houston Texans. But he was awful as a return man in Green Bay. The Packers’ special teams were a problem for the Packers earlier this season.
However, the Packers have been dangerous at special teams since Keisean Nixon has been returning kicks. (The Packers will hope he’s healthy next week against the Minnesota Vikings.) Nixon had a big return against the Dolphins Sunday. He returned his first kick to the Miami nine-yard line. The Packers’ offense could only muster a field goal on the drive. But Nixon’s been flipping field position like that in the past month.
Bisaccia has helped set up blocking schemes for Nixon. One thing Bisaccia could work on is the fake kick. The Packers were criticized for a fake punt against the Dolphins. LaFleur said he wasn’t happy with how that play went down.

“That was all bad … We have to give our guys the ability to get out of it.”
