The Green Bay Packers have put on the pads for the first time in training camp. This increased the level of physicality of their drills, which increased the chance for injury. Yesterday, Jaire Alexander was removed from practice as a precaution. When addressing the media on Wednesday morning, head coach Matt LaFleur explained what had happened.
LaFleur said Jaire Alexander was a little tight yesterday, hence his absence from 1-on-1s and team drills. They’re trying to get him on the field for Family Night on Friday.

LaFleur did not specify where Alexander felt the tightness referenced above by Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Immediately, however, many who heard of this injury quickly thought of last season. Alexander missed most of 2021 with a shoulder injury. While the tightness probably is not in the shoulder, the idea that he may be facing another injury setback was not pleasant to think about.

Good News on the Jaire Alexander Injury Front
Despite being removed from practice on Tuesday, Alexander did return to practice on Wednesday. With Family Night coming up on Friday, LaFleur wanted to make sure Alexander would be good to go for practice on the grass of Lambeau Field. The fact that he was hopeful that Alexander would be able to be ready for Friday is certainly promising.

Today, Wednesday, several media members who were able to be present to watch practice reported that Jaire Alexander, indeed, has returned to practice. As of right now, he is participating in individual drills and looks fine. Today’s practice has a slower pace, so there is little risk of injury.
#Packers CB Jaire Alexander is practicing today after dropping out of team reps for precautionary reasons after feeling tightness yesterday. Looks like he’s moving just fine in individual drills.
