Matt LaFleur is generating a great deal of heat today. When asked if defensive coordinator Joe Barry would return in 2023, LaFleur stated, “I anticipate that.” He went onto say that he believes the coaching staff will remain mostly intact. This means, thankfully, that Rich Bisaccia should return as the special teams coordinator of the Green Bay Packers. One change LaFleur did hint at, however, was bringing back his former offensive coordinator and handing over play-calling duties to him.
Matt LaFleur says it’s crossed his mind to give up play-calling duties. Wants to do what’s best for the team.
He was asked if he’d bring Nathaniel Hackett back and/or consider handing over play calling.
“I’ve definitely entertained all that.”

Matt LaFleur Is Interested in Bringing Nathaniel Hackett Back to Green Bay
One of the things Matt LaFleur did say could change next season is who calls the plays. Ever since becoming the Packers’ head coach, LaFleur has called plays on the offense himself. However, when asked in his press conference about possibly bring back Nathaniel Hackett, LaFleur said he had thought about it and said, if he did, he may give Hackett play-calling responsibilities.

Hackett, of course, was Matt LaFleur’s offensive coordinator before he left to be the head coach of the Denver Broncos. Unfortunately, he was fired before the season ended and is now available for any coaching job.
Questions Regard the Matt LaFleur Offensive Coaching Staff
After Hackett departed for Denver, Matt LaFleur promoted offensive line coach Adam Stenavich to offensive coordinator. Given LaFleur’s comments about keeping his current staff as is, it is safe to assume Stenavich will not be demoted. One has to wonder, therefore, in what capacity would Hackett return to Green Bay?
