Jordan Love threw for 113 yards and one touchdown in the Green Bay Packers preseason win over the New Orleans Saints on Friday night. Head coach Matt LaFleur reviewed Love’s performance after the game. LaFleur was pleased with the quarterback’s performance and overall progression in the offense. The head coach mentioned that Love is “lightyears ahead” of the player he was at this point a year ago.
Love completed 12 of 24 pass attempts and ran for 13 yards on three carries. LaFleur thought his night could’ve been better if it weren’t for some drops. “We had, again, too many drops. I want to say we had at least five drops on offense.” He added that “there was a lot of good” from the QB on the night.
LaFleur has been impressed by Love’s decision-making in the game. He said, “He was decisive, and I think that’s the big thing from him. I see a much more decisive player out there and I think that’s going to lead to a much more effective player.”
Love’s lone TD of the night came on a fade ball to rookie Romeo Doubs. “The fade ball, I thought Jordan threw a nice ball and [Dubbs] went up and got it,” the head coach said.
Goodness, @RomeoDoubs. 😳

The third-year quarterback also spoke to the media after the game. He said, “I feel definitely a lot better than I have in the past two years. I just feel more confident, more comfortable back there. It’s my third year in the offense, second-year getting game reps, I definitely feel more comfortable.”
