The Packers have many questions regarding injury going into week one. The status of their record breaking tight end is one of them. Robert Tonyan was a major piece to the offense in 2020. He caught nearly everything thrown to him. He finished with 52 receptions on 59 targets. To go along with that, he had 536 receiving yards, and a franchise-record (for tight ends) 11 touchdowns. However, the 2021 season didn’t go as well. Prior to tearing his ACL halfway through the season, he had only accumulated 18 receptions for 204 yards and two touchdowns. The Packers figure that a healthy Robert Tonyan could impact the offense again. Today Matt LaFleur gave an update on his health for week one.
Matt LaFleur Gives Week One Update For Robert Tonyan:
LaFleur on whether TE Robert Tonyan. who took his first team (11-on-11) reps yesterday in his return from ACL, is on track to play Week 1: "It's a little early to say that right now. That was his first action in team periods. We'll see how he responds." https://t.co/36oB47UGwo
