A former Milwaukee Brewers reliever is in the news after police in Arlington, Texas arrested him on charges of driving while intoxicated, one count of accident involving injury, and one count of evading arrest. Unfortunately this is not his first offense related to driving while intoxicated. After serving prison time the first go-around it will be interesting to see what happens following his latest bout of legal trouble.
Former Milwaukee Brewers reliever arrested
In Arlington, Texas former Brewers reliever Matt Bush has been arrested for the charges mentioned in the opening paragraph. Local news stations reported that Bush ran a red light and made contact with a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck and two other vehicles that were waiting at the traffic light. He then attempted to flee the scene, was eventually caught, and refused to take a sobriety test.

In 2012 Matt Bush injured another man on a motorcycle in which he was driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18. He was sentenced to 51 months in prison but was released after 39 months. Afterwards the former number one overall MLB Draft pick revitalized his playing career by moving to a pitcher full time. He spent time in the Major Leagues with Texas Rangers from 2016-2022 and the Brewers in 2022-2023.
