Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are once again in the midst of an uncertain off-season. Adam Schefter has reported that a trade is a very real possibility this off-season.
Both sides are fully aware that a trade is a very real scenario this off-season for Aaron Rodgers. The Packers are expected to move on from certain players, which Aaron Rodgers probably won’t like. The issue here will be the $110 million left on his contract and which team could afford it. There is a real possibility at some point this off-season Aaron Rodgers is going to be traded.
One trade proposal would send Aaron Rodgers out of Green Bay for a slew of premium draft picks. However, it would mean the Packers would have to be willing to trade Rodgers within the conference.
Massive Aaron Rodgers Trade Proposal Sends Aaron Rodgers To Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks and Packers have met periodically in the playoffs over the last decade or so, would Green Bay be willing to trade Aaron Rodgers to a conference rival? Possibly, if the price is right. The Seahawks have more than $47 million in cap space going into 2023. Geno Smith had an incredible year in 2022 leading the Seahawks to a 9-8 record and a playoff berth. However, is Geno Smith a Super Bowl caliber quarterback? Seattle certainly has the roster to be competitive, would a four-time MVP quarterback be the missing piece? The Seahawks are loaded with draft picks going into the 2023 NFL draft. They have six picks in the first four rounds:
- Round 1, Pick 5 (from DEN)
- Round 1, Pick 20
- Round 2, Pick 37 (from DEN)
- Round 2, Pick 52
- Round 3, Pick 83
- Round 4, Pick 122
Putting together a trade package for Aaron Rodgers wouldn’t be hard for them at all. This is one we think the Packers very much consider if the Seahawks offered it.
The Trade:
Seattle Seahawk Receive:
- QB Aaron Rodgers
- 2023 Fourth Round Draft Pick (113th overall)
Green Bay Packers Receive:
- 2023 First Round Draft Pick (5th overall)
- 2023 Second Round Draft Pick (52nd overall)
- 2023 Third Round Draft Pick (83rd overall)
- 2023 Fourth Round Draft Pick (122nd overall)
This trade would come one season after the Broncos sent quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks (2022 — No. 9 overall — and 2023), two second-round picks (2022 — No. 40 overall — and 2023) and a 2022 fifth-round selection to the Seahawks for quarterback Russell Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round pick. Over two season the Seahawks would still be in the “green” after their two blockbuster quarterback trades. Seattle would also be set up for another playoff push with a roster that is clearly talented enough to be competitive in the NFC, but this time led by a four-time MVP quarterback. The Green Bay Packers would be set up with premium draft picks and the Jordan Love era would officially be underway.
