Mason Crosby’s future is far from certain. According to a recent report, Crosby has no plans of retiring this offseason. At the same time, his contract with the Packers has expired. Green Bay already has another kicker signed for 2023, leaving Crosby’s future with the team in question. Per the report, Crosby would like to return to the Packers, as his work with Rich Bisaccia “lit a fire under me.” However, he also will explore other opportunities if he has to in order to keep his career going.
Mason Crosby Appreciation Floods Twitter During Cowboys Game
The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-14 on Monday night. The score would have been even more lopsided if Cowboys kicker Brett Maher had not missed his first four extra point attempts. Fortunately for Maher, he did make his fifth attempt and did hit a field goal later in the game. While it is easy to dog a player for such a performance, one also might sympathize with him. The “yips” are a real thing and have derailed not a few careers. Fortunately, he was able to put the first four misses behind him and ended the game on a positive note.
That being said, Maher’s struggles were a good reminder to Packers fans for how spoiled they have been over the past decade and a half. Many fans took to Twitter to share their appreciation for Mason Crosby in light of the poor kicking performance on Monday night.
