The Marquette Golden Eagles last played on Tuesday night against the Seton Hall Pirates and won that game easily on the road by a final score of 76-59. Head coach Shaka Smart had to be pleased with what he saw on the road in that performance. Hopefully, that performance will carry over into the game on Friday.
Three players scored in double figures for the Golden Eagles in that game. Kam Jones scored 19 points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded four assists. David Joplin scored 12 points and Ben Gold also added 11 points for Marquette against Seton Hall. There are always different players who step up for Marquette in each game.
Players To Watch For On Villanova

The Wildcats lost to the Georgetown Hoyas on Monday night by a final score of 64-63. For now, Villanova is not projected to make the NCAA Tournament. Head coach Kyle Neptune is very well on the hot seat for the program. If they don’t make the tournament this season, there is a chance that they will have a new head coach for the 2025-2026 season.
Only two players on Villanova’s roster scored in double figures against Georgetown. Eric Dixon scored 29 points and grabbed six rebounds in the last game. Jordan Longino scored 18 points also for the Wildcats. If Villanova is going to upset Marquette on the road, they will need more players to step up. As for Marquette, this is a game that they should win going away.
