The fourth-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles will face the top-ranked Kansas Jayhawks in a college basketball matchup on Tuesday night, with tipoff set for 9:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on ESPN. This is the semifinals of the Maui Invitational. Marquette improved to 4-0 on the season on Monday night with a win over the UCLA Bruins 71-69.
The Golden Eagles trailed by as many as 12 points in that matchup against UCLA. Marquette had three players in double figures on Monday night against the Bruins. David Joplin led the Marquette Golden Eagles with 19 points, and he also grabbed four rebounds.
Oso Ighodaro scored 14 points, and Kam Jones also scored 12 points for Shaka Smart’s squad. This will be a huge early season test for them against the Kansas Jayhawks. This game could go a long way for potential tournament seeding when March comes. These kinds of college basketball games are resume builders.

If Marquette is able to pull this win out on Tuesday night, they will be known as a legit national title contender this season. The Kansas Jayhawks defeated Chaminade on Monday night by a final score of 83-56.
Kansas was led by Hunter Dickinson, who scored 31 points. He transferred from the Michigan Wolverines, and he could be one of the best players in the entire country. Bill Self is the head coach of the Jayhawks. Marquette trying to guard him is going to be a tall ask.

It might only be November, but this could potentially be a Final Four preview between Kansas and Marquette down the road. The Final Four this season will be in Glendale, Arizona, and both of these college basketball teams could either be a one-seed or a two-seed come March.
