The Marquette Golden Eagles schedule for the 2024-2025 has been fully released. College basketball is less than two months away. A season ago, Marquette finished with a 27-10 overall record and a 14-6 record in BIG East Conference play.
The Golden Eagles were the second seed in the NCAA Tournament last season before losing to the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the Sweet 16. Marquette reached the BIG East Championship game last season as well for the second consecutive season, but they lost to the UCONN Huskies.
BETMGM Has the Marquette Golden Eagles At +800 Odds To Win the Big East Regular Season Title
During the 2022-2023 season, the Marquette Golden Eagles won the BIG East Title in the regular season and also won the BIG East Tournament. A season ago, the UCONN Huskies won the BIG East regular season title and tournament en route to a back-to-back national title.
For this season, it is no surprise that the Huskies are favored to win the conference during the regular season at +125 odds via BETMGM. However, Marquette is not the second favorite to win the conference this season. The Creighton Blue Jays have +375 odds to win the regular season title and the St. John’s Red Storm have +500 odds to win the regular season title.
As for the Marquette Golden Eagles, they have the fourth-best odds on BETMGM to win the regular season crown at +800 odds. Marquette at those odds feels like a good bet because, after the Huskies, there is no clear-cut second-best team in the conference. The Golden Eagles have the potential to be this season.
Potential Lineup For the 2024-2025 Season
Even with Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro leaving the Marquette Golden Eagles basketball program because of graduation and the NBA, there is hope that they will be good again this season under head coach Shaka Smart. No other players left the program to transfer elsewhere. They have a lot of talented players who return this season.
Kam Jones no doubt will be the star player for the Golden Eagles. Chase Ross, Ben Gold, and Stevie Mitchell will be some of the other players to watch out for on the Marquette Golden Eagles this season. Another NCAA Tournament appearance could very well happen, but we will see if they could win another BIG East regular season title for the second time in three seasons.
