The Marquette Golden Eagles are 17-3 overall this season and have a 7-1 record in Big East Conference play enlarge to the play of Kam Jones this season. There is a chance that Jones will be the Big East Conference Player of the Year this season.
Jones is 6’5″ and weighs 200 lbs. This season with the Golden Eagles, he is averaging 19.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 6.5 APG, along with shooting 49.7% from the field. Kam Jones could be the only player on Marquette’s roster who will get drafted in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Fansided NBA Mock Draft Has Marquette Golden Eagles Guard Kam Jones Being Selected By the Atlanta Hawks
Fansided.com writer Christopher Kline created his latest NBA 2025 Mock Draft. He has the Golden Eagles star guard being selected by the Atlanta Hawks 20th overall in this year’s draft. There is a chance that Jones can go anywhere from the middle of the first round toward the end of the first round. Kline said:
“Atlanta is happy to run its entire offense through Trae Young for 35 minutes a night, but there are still 13-odd minutes unaccounted for. Right now, Atlanta is splitting those extra ball-handling reps between Bogdan Bogdanovic, Vit Krejci, and Dyson Daniels. Another viable on-ball generator would benefit the Hawks. Kam Jones has always been comfortable as a shooter and slasher on the perimeter, but this season we’ve seen a change. The Marquette senior is suddenly one of the most prolific playmakers in college hoops, averaging 6.7 assists to 1.7 turnovers. He is impressively well-rounded now.”
It would be interesting to see how Trae Young and Kam Jones would fit into the same offense. The Hawks this season have a 22-21 record in the Eastern Conference and are the sixth seed currently.
Jones Improving Draft Stock
In an NBA mock draft last week by Bleacher Report, Jones was being selected by the Boston Celtics 28th overall. This is a major improvement for him as he moves up eight spots. There is a chance that Kam Jones could go a little higher.
It is going to depend upon what happens for the rest of the season in college basketball. The Atlanta Hawks, the Boston Celtics, and other NBA teams are no doubt scouting Marquette games to see what is going on with Jones.
