Marquette Golden Eagles are back on winning track and that translated into an improved placement in the Weekly AP Top 25 Poll ranking. Wisconsin Badgers had a different fate.

The team recorded two straight dominant last week. First was a 30-point beatdown of the Providence Friars. They then followed it up with a 15-point road win against Georgetown Hoyas.
For that, the Associated Press put them back in the Top 20 for 409 points. That is one spot higher than they were they are from last week.
Remaining in the poll means they still have the fourth longest streak inside Top 25 since its inception. They are behind Houston (103), Tennessee (77) and Purdue (56).

The result is encouraging but looking back, Marquette appeared to be one of the best teams in the country as they stayed in the Top 10 for nine straight weeks. The highest they reached was no. 5 in December.
The current ranking is worse than the pre-season predictions made by the poll. AP ranked them 18th after finishing 17th in the season before.
Wisconsin Badgers drop in the ranking
Marquette performed well this week but their rivals Wisconsin Badgers had a different fate.
The Badgers, however, are still higher than the Golden Eagles in the ranking.
The team failed to enter the Top 10 after getting placed at 11th spot last week as they are now the 12th best team in the country according to the poll.

The team went 11-1 last week. First one was a dominant win against the Washington Huskies.
They then faced off with Big Ten’s number one team Michigan State Spartans. They went toe-to-toe with Tom Izzo’s squad but unfortunately folded in the last three minutes to succumb to a 71-62 loss.
