Every year the video game Madden releases their ratings ahead of the actual game release. Every year there are players and fans who have passionate reactions to it. This year was no different as Madden had some pretty lowly ratings for the Packers wide receiving corps.
Full Ratings of the Wide Receivers:
In case you are unfamiliar with Madden, 99 is the highest rating possible in Madden. Having the highest rated wide receiver be 79 is… less than ideal. Christian Watson being the fastest wide receiver on the roster is interesting given Sammy Watkins is on the team.
The other abbreviations are: SPD= Speed. ACC= Acceleration. STR= Strength. AGI= Agility. AWR= Awareness. CTH= Catch In Traffic. As the season progresses, Madden adjusts these ratings for how the player is performing. It will be interesting to see how many of these guys increase into the 80s and beyond. For now, players can hopefully use this as motivation going into the season (yes, players definitely look at these ratings).
