Green Bay Packers rookie Luke Musgrave was one of two tight ends drafted in 2023. The position has been lacking for a while and probably hasn’t seen a dynamic athlete since Jermichael Finley. As OTAs begin, it is the first opportunity to see these players on the field albeit in a practice environment. Still, we get to see what these players can bring to the table. Musgrave showed off some great athleticism during OTAs today.
Green Bay Packers Luke Musgrave Shows Off Skills
You can watch the video of the catch here. There are a couple of things in the video that should get Packers fans excited. The first is how huge Musgrave is and how easily he moves. He looks like a complete mismatch over the middle of the field. Then there is the catch. It is a back shoulder throw and Musgrave adjusts and catches it easily. Especially last year, these were the types of plays that were missing from the Packers’ offense. Everything was on the sidelines. Part of that was the lack of dynamic over the middle receivers and the hope is that Musgrave can provide that threat.

Mixed Results From OTAs
While there have been good things at OTAs, there have been some concerns as well. Jordan Love has had up and down days including today. He made some great throws but seemed to struggle to get the ball downfield. He was intercepted once and had another throw that was almost picked. If the Packers are going to do anything this year, they need Love to perform well to some degree. It isn’t time to panic but it isn’t ideal to hear that news coming out of OTAs.
Let’s not focus on that right now. Let’s focus on how great Luke Musgrave looks for the Green Bay Packers. He looks like he is going to be a fun player to watch this season and is part of a youth movement that makes so many people excited to watch this team.
